In my last post I mentioned that I like my food when it’s a creamy paté texture. I’m a licker, not a biter, so I tend to lick the sauce off little chunks of food and leave the rest behind. Sometimes “behind” means pushed off the plate onto my place mat! Mom & Dad can smash the little pieces with the back of a fork, but they said that’s not very convenient. Mom decided it would be easier to run my food through a food processor.
Here’s our setup. The photo is staged so you can see it all in one photo. Everything is more spread out and I’m not on the counter while mom is prepping my food. Anyway, Mom whirls up 3 cans of each flavor and portions them into food storage containers. Luckily, each container holds exactly one can. She stores them in the freezer and moves them to the fridge as needed. She did 12 cans today (6 cans of both flavors) so that should last almost 2 weeks before we repeat the process.
That’s it, Mom. Grind up those little chunks and make it nice and creamy for me.
We have a full-size food processor, but doing smaller batches in our little processor does a better job at getting the food the consistency I want.
Since Mom discards the empty cans in the recycle bin, she decided it would be a good idea to save a label from each case of food and write the information from the bottom of the can on the back of the label. That way we have the info just in case there’s a problem with the food like a recall or something.
I sure am thankful I have a Mom who will put this much effort into making sure I have good food and it’s exactly to my liking….or should I say licking!
You probably haven’t noticed, but I haven’t shown my rear end or tail in a very long time. Mom is trying to get some photos that show how my furs are growing back. That will be our next post.
