Almost Wordless Wednesday – Beautiful eyes

Mom (and Dad) have never been so relieved to see my beautiful yellow eyes.

It’s taken 4 days for the 24-hour pain medication to get out of Raven’s system. I think there’s still some effect but her behavior and her eyes are noticeably improved.

We’re still waiting on urine culture results but she’s taking a broad-spectrum antibiotic so I’m hoping it will take care of whatever bacteria shows up in her urine culture. Raven is acting much more like her usual self. She’s eating again and urinating more normally (no little marble-sized pee balls).

We are happy Raven is looking and feeling more like her beautiful self. We will keep her in our prayers, though. 🐱❤

    • Raven says:

Thanks. I was very worried that we had allowed her to be given something that had caused damage to her eyes or her vision. I know all animals can respond differently to a drug but 4 days versus 1 day is a Big difference.

  2. Mary McNeil says:

Lookin’ good, sweet Raven ! Purrayers your recovery continues.

  3. pilch92 says:

Glad to hear Raven is improving.

  4. We’re glad Raven is doing better. Y’know, Wally had that pain med and while it made him a little loopy, he didn’t have that bad of a reaction to it. Raven must be super sensitive to that medication. Or maybe the vet gave her a bigger dose.

    • Raven says:

We’re thinking either 1) she’s super-slow at clearing it from her system, or 2) maybe they gave her the 3-day medication by mistake. We’ll never know because I’d never want her to have this medication again. We don’t think it was a bigger dose (the receipt shows the amount) because a bigger dose would have sedated her and effected her breathing like a drug overdose.

Wow! We just read through your last few posts to get caught up on what’s been going on. So sorry to hear you’ve been under the weather, Raven. And that you had to go to the VET! Glad the drugs have mostly worn off. You look wonderful – glad to hear you are feeling better. Hope it continues!!

  9. Mango and my Mom says:

Oh Raven, We have been so worried about you! We love dark kitties as long ago, Mom had a female dark kitty named Ebony as she was jet black and a very kind gentle cat she was! She lived about 19 years! Mom adopted her at age 3 and Mom had Ebony for 16 years!

  10. Finding marble-sized peeballs is scary, and when recently Angel went through that, we feel it was her stress at going to the vet that caused it! So, we’ve cut out all holistic vet visits, leaving things to the ‘regular’ vet now. Angel is much better, and I’m glad that Raven seems to be returning to health. We are the voice of our kitties; if the vet wants to do something that we don’t like, or give a med that has a poor track record, then we make our opinions known!
