Bird t.v.

I thought I’d share a quick video of the bird t.v. I’ve been watching. There’s no sound in the video because we were inside the house using a telephoto lens. The finches are fun to watch and there’s even a hummingbird that visits. I hope the birds keep visiting for a long time.

Tweety birds are back

The finches have returned to my backyard. They are fun to watch and we like their sweet little tweets. There are 3 birdies in the photo, but I’ve seen 6 birdies at one time!

Finches at bird feeder

For more than a year, the finches have been chased away by the obnoxious Scrub Jays (they’re the west coast version of Blue Jays). We removed the jays’ nesting places and enclosed the blueberries so they can’t eat them. We also stopped using feeders that the jays can get seed out of.

We purchased another pretty feeder like the one on the left. We’ll put it up and move the mesh bag feeder to another location so the birds will have lots of places to feed in my yard.

Welcome back little birdies! You are my favorite bird tv channel.

Caturday Art with Blueberries

Raven has a swirly tail for today’s Caturday Art hop with Athena. If you compare it to yesterday’s photo, it makes it look like she has some sort of tail.

Raven with an art-swirled rump

This is completely off-topic, but we’re excited about our first picking of blueberries. We nearly filled a 9-inch pie plate.

A few weeks ago I showed the enclosure we built to keep the birds from eating the berries.

I expect we’ll be able to pick two or three more batches of berries and the birds won’t get to eat any!

And here they are swirly.
