Mom and Dad went to a coin show last weekend and found some cat-themed coins.
The first is a coin from Canada that has a snarling cougar.
The next two are from the Isle of Man:
A Norwegian Forest Cat
And an Alley Cat
These coins are all larger (1.5 inches or 4 cm; the size of a U.S. silver dollar). Mom wishes more U.S. coins had animals instead of dead presidents. Even when there’s an animal on one of the newer quarters, it’s very small. Maybe there should be a new rule that all money must have something furry on it!
The art is impressive on those coins!
Those are pretty cool. The mom always wanted a pendant made out of a coin with a cat on it.
Such neat coins ! Thanks for sharing !
I’m definitely more interested in cats on coins than boring dead people.
How interesting ! Have never seen cat coins ! Usually there are always boring buildings or heads of celebrities on the coins !
That’s the way it should be…everywhere!
Animals and money don’t seem to mix. There are some sorry looking “frog” stamps out.
Very nice coins. I agree that cats would be better than dead presidents on coins. š
these are so cool! I have never seen cat-themed coins before!
Very nice coins ! Purrs
Cats on coins are way better than dead presidents! Nice finds!
Raven, we totally agree! And those are very cool coins!
WOW! Those are really cool coins!
We live in Canada and did not know there was a coin with a cat on it!
However, mum does not often look at specialty coins, just the ones in her purse š

We just had a coin show here, too, recently! The housekeeper would’ve gone if she knew kitties were waiting for her on the coins! Very cool, I must say! (Did you buy any?) And, we agree. There should be cats on coins here in the US, too. – Tom x
Yes – I bought the coins in the photos I posted. I also ordered 3 more, which I’ll share later.
These are so cool! What a great find.
